Transformer Load Simulation

Transformer Load Simulation

Transformer Load Simulation

(OP)
I´m working with EPRI´s PTLOAD program for a Transformer and Autotransformer Loadability Study. The software asks me to put the following features:

No load-core- loss
Load loss for an operating point -for instance nominal load-

I´cant get the information about these values, the manuals I´ve got are incomplete, some are very old. Can someone show me if there´s a method of estimating the losses, if the fenomenon can be linealized to obtain the values at any load level within a determined margin? Is there also any loss comparation method between transformers?

Thanks for your time.

RE: Transformer Load Simulation

IEEE C57.12.10 lists ranges of impedance for various transformer sizes, and IEEE C57.12.90 describes tests for measuring copper and iron losses.  Transformer after-production test reports are the usual source for precise numbers.

RE: Transformer Load Simulation

Hello,

I know that there is a very close relation between X/R ratio and copper losses.
In some cases, it is easier to obtain the X/R ratio for transformers than copper losses.

In IEEE red book there is a graphic to obtain X/R ratio (approximated!) for transformers with different ranges.
