Trying to develope a dynamic model...
(OP)
I'm attempting to develope a dynamic model of a pair of spur gears by treating the bearings and gear teeth as springs. I had originally intended on building a simple system where only two gear teeth were in contact at any time, but now I'm hoping to expand my model to include three pairs of teeth contacting each other. So, how do I go about calculating where the teeth first make contact, first release contact, and the angle of the normal force at that point?
Thanks,

RE: Trying to develope a dynamic model...
The tangential tooth load is constant
thru the mesh cycle.
I do not think you can get 3 teeth
in contact at any time.
Contact ratios values are between 1.00
and 2.00.
The Highest Point of Single Tooth
Contact is listed in Machineries
Handbook and other sources as well.
Goodluck with your research.
