TRUSS ANALYSIS

TRUSS ANALYSIS

TRUSS ANALYSIS

(OP)
I've been working on a few truss analysis projects recently and found a few questions. And I've done quite bit of research but haven't really found anything.

1. Are steel bar joists designed as Pinned-Pinned support condition or Pinned-Roller support condition? SJI states that joists shall be designed as simply-supported.

2. For timber trusses with timber load bearing walls, shall the end support be considered as Pinned-Pinned or Pinned-Roller? And, shall the top chord be considered as compression only member or combined compression and bending?  Shall the bottom chord be considered as tension only or combined tension and bending?

Thanks in advance.
