Good Afternoon Materials Engineer:
Can you help me identify plate material meeting EN 10028-2 P265GH? Can you tell me what the ASTM equivalent is? Can you refer me to a producing mill? Thank you for your help.
Regards,

Thanks for your help, Kent.

RE: EN Standards

ASTM equivalent is A 515 gr. 60

RE: EN Standards

I am not sure about P265, but P295 is listed in ASME 2D.  Its a basic carbon manganese presssure vessel steel with a minimum tensile strength of about 410N/mm2 with a yield stress of 265N/mm2.

According to the British Pressure vessel code PD5500:- P265 has a design strength of 176N/mm2, A516 and A515 Grade 70, according to code case 91, are given a design strength of 175N/mm2.

But they are still not the same, as the EN steel will be subjected to more stringent mechanical testing than will the ASTM equivalent.
