Multiple Configurations of Same Part in One Assemlby

Multiple Configurations of Same Part in One Assemlby

(OP)
I have unsuccesfully searched the forums for an answer to my question:
How can I use multiple instances of the same part file in an assembly, where each instance represents a different Configuration of the part, driven by a Design Table in the Part?

I have tried to do this but generally all instances of the part in the assembly take the form of the "most current configuration".  In my experimentation I haven't been able to get more than 1 configuration of a part in an assembly.

My example is one in which I am building a box with several pieces of rectangular extrusion.  The only parameter which changes is the length of the extrusion.  If possible I would like to avoid having to create a lot of individual part files representing the different lengths.  If I can drive the individual lengths from Configurations in the Assembly, it would make my model much more parametric, as well as reduce the hassle of managing so many parts.

Help??

RE: Multiple Configurations of Same Part in One Assemlby

Right-click the part component in the assembly's model tree and select "Component Properties".  Under "Referenced Configuration", select the "Use named configuration" radio button and select the desired configuration for that component.
