hello everyone!
i would like to get some info. about how to build an electric circuit for 12[v] 1 h.p. D.C. motor speed control.
thanks

RE: circuit for speed control
In lieu of the oscillator you can use the output of a microprocessor, now you can control the speed via software.
RE: circuit for speed control
would like to submit a couple of ideas to your speed controlled motor. First is a design idea out of the current EDN magazine design ideas, convert periodic waveforms to square waves. The issue is Aug. 16,2001 and the author of the idea is Ron Mancini, Texas Instruments, Bushnell, Fl. EDN Mag has a website at www.ednmag.com. Second is a design a colleague of mine put together in undergard. The circuit like the design idea is a 12v variable duty cycle squarewave output. The circuit is based on the 555 timer and a germanium diode in a typical bistable configuation. The duty cycle is controlled by a potentiometer. 0% duty cycle = 0v = 0 speed, 50% duty cycle = 6v and half speed 100% duty cycle = 12v = full speed. The solution is elegant and cheap if you would like details wire an email and I will give you the details. drollinger@montana.net. Good luck
