Linear bearing-acetal copolymer radiation protection

Linear bearing-acetal copolymer radiation protection

Linear bearing-acetal copolymer radiation protection

(OP)
I have a linear roller way bearing that will be used in a radiation environment, 3.5x10^7 Rads (life exposure), this linear roller way, as well as most brands, have end plates that are made with acetal copolymer, this material can only withstand 10^4-10^5 Rads before breakdown. The end cap facilitates recirculation of the bearings. There is not a SST end cap available for this model roller way and the versions with SST end caps do not have the load capacity I need.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can protect the acetal copolymer end caps?

RE: Linear bearing-acetal copolymer radiation protection

Dupont are the manufaturers of Delrin (acetal copolymer), have you tried to contact them for help.

Im not sure where you are based, but i know who to contact at the manufacturing site in Dordrecht Holland if its any help.
