unknown alumiun composition
(OP)
Could anyone help me with this composition
Al 97%
Cu 0.4%
Mg 0.7%
Si 0.8%
Mn 0.5%
Fe 0.22%
Zn 0.04%
It seemed to be a 6082 alloy but the Cu is to high for this alloy. Anyone got a clue?

The part is an automotive part we've analysed.
It also includes Cu2 : 0.5
Pb 0.04
Cr 0.195
Ti 0.030
Ni : 0.019
It indeed leads to 6056 only for the Zn.
Thanks anyway

Was the part formed from sheet or from bar/wire? What type of part is it?
RE: unknown alumiun composition
It is something we didn't make ourselves

I think AlanD provided the right alloy type with 6010. I only checked EN 573-3 assuming that this was for a European application, and didn't check for US alloys in ASTM B 211. 6009 and 6011 are sheet alloys, so unless the part is a thin stamping/pressing, I would go with 6010.
