just about to start job in hvac field ned to now if anyone can help or is there a site that could help with gasing up a air/con unit eg saturation temp subcool and supperheat etc

imok2 provided a nice link. Also check www.sporlan.com. I suggest to get your hands on Principles of Refrgeration and Air Conditioning by Roy J Dossat. This is a classic and you will have a cake walk through the otherwise difficult concepts.
