Motion or infrared sensor

Motion or infrared sensor

Motion or infrared sensor

(OP)
I am trying to build a device for fun and need a motion or infrared sensor that will detect to about 60 feet. I need to find something in 9vdc coil (for a 9-volt battery),
and either dry contacts or pnp output.
It's for a camera system that you put on the woods to take pictures of deer, etc when they walk by. They cost around 400 bucks, and I'd like to try to build my own.
Any ideas where to purchase a sensor anything like that?

RE: Motion or infrared sensor

Suggestions:
1. Try
http://www.thomasregister.com
and type Sensors: Motion, which will return 143 Companies to inquire about the right Motion or Infrared sensor for your project.
2. Try Radio Shack stores. Some of them used to sell home security systems.

RE: Motion or infrared sensor

Radio Shack has a 40KHz IR sensor -- use 40KHz IR LED.
Easily detects for 200 feet --  can extend with
optics.
