can anyone tell me how i anneal copper?
i know what the process is for steel but am unsure how to go about it for copper.

Annealing of Cu alloys is simple and very similar to that for steels. If all you want to do is to remove the effects of cold work then for pure Cu the recrystallization temp. given in my Metals Handbook desk edition is 220*C. You will want to hold at this time for at least 30mins. and then cool. I dont think that pure Cu requires a furnace cool, you may be able to just leave in air. depending on alloy this process will be different. also if you are trying to homogenize a casting there will be a difference also.
