Ejector for solids conveying

Ejector for solids conveying

(OP)
Hi!
I am looking for the priciples of ejector design for transporting solids (coal/grits) through a pipe from a hopper to a furnace. Could someone please guide to any calculations on ejectors?
Thanks,
S.C.Sekhar

RE: Ejector for solids conveying

I am unaware of ejector type solid transfer so far. You can use either screw feeder(or any similar transporting system) or pneumatic conveying system for this.

Check this link for pneumatic conveying system design.

Thanks for the information on the pneumatic conveying system. Air enters the ejector a pressure and draws in the solids at the vena-contracta to convey it over the required length with a velocity of around 15-20 m/s.

hmmm...it is not as easy as that if the powder is not fluidized, IMHO.

This is a commonly used method for conveying coal in fluidised bed boilers.
