Low Conductivity Water (LCW) Seals

Low Conductivity Water (LCW) Seals

Low Conductivity Water (LCW) Seals

(OP)
Hi

Anyone had experience in working with this fluid that they would care to share, specifically seal materials? I am aware of viton and EPDM being acceptable and Graphite and Ptfe definitely NOT. Any others? UHMWPE perhaps? Acetal (Delrin)?

Any pitfalls that we should be aware of?

Cheers.

RE: Low Conductivity Water (LCW) Seals

UHMW and Acetal are okay, but don't exceed their upper temperature limits.  UHMW just gets soft and creeps/relaxes under load.  Acetal actually breaks down (crumbles) due to hydrolysis attack by water above about 140F.
