watching the creation of features

Excuse my ignorance but I though I had once used a option in Solidworks that allowed you to view the creation of the part feature by feature.  Can someone refresh my memory if this is the case.

I know I can rollback the drawing to the beginning and step through each feature but I though what I had used was a sort of semi-automated option.

Thanks

DG

RE: watching the creation of features

SolidEdge has a feature like that. Not Solidworks.

RE: watching the creation of features

Actually SW does have a semi-automatic rollback feature & I think it is better than SE as the operator controls the speed of navigation rather than a fixed (and short delay)automatic step through.

Go to the SW Tools > Options > System options > Feature manager & check mark the Arrow key navigation option.

Then when a part is rolled back, single LMB click on the rollback bar (it should turn blue), then use the up/down arrow keys to navigate.

FYI,

SE's 'Feature Playback' has a slider which allows the user to manually forward and reverse the rollback of the feature creation. You can start at any feature by dragging the slider or by clicking the name of the feature in the Edge Bar.

The 'Feature Playback' also has controls which allow the user to view it just like a movie or viewing it a step at a time.

BTW the user can specify the interval time.

Happy to you.

I stand corrected ... thanks for the update. That's not what I was shown ... guess I should have double checked it myself before flapping my lips (fingers).
