I get a run time error when I start AutoCAD using its own startup shortcut, but I can open a drawing using Windows Explorer, what does Windows Explorer do that AutoCAD does not, that allows me to start AutoCAD like this, and how do I fix it, can anyone help?

Sounds like the operating system can't find the initial startup file for Autocad.  Check the target file destignation listed in the shortcut.  This can be done by right click the shortcut and select properties.  To find where is the startup file, use search command in start button at the bottom of the screen.  Hope this helps John

It can find AutoCAD, its resources are depleted on startup - What can cause a RUN TIME Error in AutoCAD on starting?

RE: Run time error

Maybe the template at startup is corrupted.
