I have a project which is using digestor gas (~60% methane) to run a generator which is listed as being used for this gas.  I have gas analysis so I know what the BTU/ft3 of the digestor gas.

I am responsible for sizing the piping to the generator.

I know how to size the piping if the gas is natural gas (~92% methane).

I have a general approach that I am comfortable will work but wanted to see if anybody has any actual experience with this.

I use to run generators on landfill gas @ 45-50% methane. It's all in the volume. The engine manufacture will tell you how many BTU's /min the engine requires. You size the supply system to feed the engine what it needs. Increase the volume in relation to the methane percentage. Use larger pipe or more compression to feed the lower BTU gas at a rate at which the engine will run.
