EN12205 Approval Process

EN12205 Approval Process

(OP)
Hi, currently my company manufactures non refillable cylinders for the US market (DOT approved). However a customer in Europe is asking us for cylinders that are build in conformation to the EN12205 code. What are the steps I should take to get the EN12205 certification?

RE: EN12205 Approval Process

EN 12205 is not a code, it's only a norm.
You can not get a EN12205 certification because you and your legal representative in the UE are the ones who must certificate to EN12205.
First you must check if your bottle in within the scope of Directive 1999/36/EC for Transportable pressure vessels.

Then you must comply Directives 94/55/EC and 96/49/EC for carriage of dangerous goods (ADR, RID).
IF your equipment is within the scope, you must know its category, choose one or two of the modules for the assestment, and choose one of the Notified Bodies approved for that choosen module.
Hope this helps
