surface finish symbols

surface finish symbols

(OP)
Hi all,

Some time ago I worked with UGS 17 and used some surface finish symbols in drafting to produce proper 2D drawings

However with NX2 I don't find the menu to add/alter roughness values etc. and a way to connect the symbol to a definition line/dimension

Help Please!!!!

Thanks,

 Martin

RE: surface finish symbols

I believe you need to enable them by changing a setting in the ugii_env.dat or ug_metric.def file.

You're absolutely right, my guru!

The big question remains: Why would EDS turn it off initially???

In total it has cost me 4 hours of comparing old and new drawings, checking all buttons and customize options and about 2 minutes in UGii_env.dat

Thanks,

Martin

RE: surface finish symbols

Check carefully. The last time I played with them, they only worked properly on metric drawings, not english drawings. The same with weld symbols. But then I am stuck on V18, so maybe UGS fixed this anti-feature in NX.
