3D Plots Display as Blank

3D Plots Display as Blank

3D Plots Display as Blank

(OP)
All 3D plots show blank on the display, but print fine.

I confirmed this using the "Quick 3D Scatter Plot of a Function" quicksheet.

The problem was resolved  by disabling video acceleration. On WIN2000 that's: Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshooting, then Disable all but basic accelerations. The application was restarted but not the computer.

I am running Mathcad 11.1, Win 2000, Dell GX200, NVidia Riva TST2 Model 64 video adaptor.

RE: 3D Plots Display as Blank

Unfortunately, that's a pretty common problem in Mathcad.  There are some things that Mathsoft is doing that are probably legitimate, and not all video boards or their drivers are necessarily designed correctly to implement the standards.

RE: 3D Plots Display as Blank

There are probably lots of similar software / firmware/ BIOS / hardware mix-ups that can happen.  One that I have (only with Mathcad 2000, also on a Dell (Optiplex, with Win NT)) is that it sometimes swaps the left-right and up-down scroll bars, so trying to scroll down sends you off to the left, or trying to go right sends you up!

Only happens occasionally, and I don't want to mess with it in case it breaks some more!
