equations using config specific dim

equations using config specific dim

(OP)
I was trying to create an equation in an assembly, relating an assembly dim to a part dim. This part dim is different according to part config. The problem is that the dim that the equation is locking for is the active config dim and not the initial selected config dim.

So the assembly updates in a uncontroled way, depending on what config of the part is the active one.

Is there a way to link the equation to the dim of the part config that I whant?

The part dim in the equation is in the form "dimension@feature@file.part". Shouldn't I have a reference to the config somewhere?

Regards

RE: equations using config specific dim

One possible workaround is to use config-specific equations.  If you do this, be sure to control the equations with a design table.  Otherwise, the suppression staes of the equations tend to spontaneously change.
