Camshaft Torque Friction

Camshaft Torque Friction

(OP)
Can someone please give me any data which defines app. how much torque is required to rotate a camshaft in a typical chevy small block engine?  I am looking for torque (friction - ft./lbs.) in a variety of rpm ranges (1500-6000).

RE: Camshaft Torque Friction

gene41,
I believe you may have to define the valve train set-up used also. Seems to me that the type of lifters and valve springs would be a factor in torque calculations. Just a thought.
