Thanks to those who sent me information explaining how to create threads using a CUT SWEEP rather than an EXTRUDE SWEEP.  Your information was helpful, and I created the threads and flutes I wanted.

Regarding the comment that I not use helical threaded fasteners in an assembly because it will dramaticallu increase the assemblyies file size, I'm not.  The custom self tapping sheetmetal type screaw is the only part I'm creating.
