Solidworks Menus

Is it possible with Solidworks to copy the icons, colors and that type of thing that you have setup?  I know in AutoCAD there are a couple of menu files that you copy over to any installation of AutoCAD and the screen comes up looking just like the computer copied from.  Is this possible in SW2004?  Thinking about a new computer and just wondering about transferring settings instead of redoing it all.

Thanks,
mncad

Thanks CorBlimeyLimey.  I did a keyword search and didn't find anything but forgot to look at the FAQ's.

RE: Solidworks Menus

It only works about 50% of the time. If it doesn't work for you you will have to go into the Registry and remove - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2004\User Interface the folder in Bold.

If you plan to update a newer version of SW with that Regsitry key you will have edit with the correct version and do a global replace in the Registry file that should be opened in Notepad.

Example:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2004\User Interface

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2005\User Interface

This from the Solidworks website for 2005, so I'm not breaking any beta agreement.

Scott, maybe you should contact APPENG in his FAQ and have him add your tid-bit of info to his FAQ.

RE: Solidworks Menus

MadMango,

I have tried contacting him a number of times. His email is full and all his emails keep bouncing back. I'll try calling him here in a little bit, and see what the problem might be. I'll also remind have him move his FAQ's

Jason,

I see your not winning the beta race??
