Import Adobe Illustrator into Pro-E

Import Adobe Illustrator into Pro-E

Is there any way to import text and/or graphics from Adobe Illustrator into a Pro-E .prt, .asm or .drw file? I need to create silkscreens or overlays for the parts I am designing, and have not found an easy way (in Pro-E) to create them. I have no problem creating the necessary files in Adobe Illustrator, but still need to import the text/graphics into Pro-E so it is shown on the final drawing layout.

RE: Import Adobe Illustrator into Pro-E

Illustrator can export to DXF.

Last time I did this was v20.  There was a small bug.  If the DXF file fails to import, the header information has to be removed.  Do this by opening the DXF file in a text eitor (i.e. Notepad) and removing Adobe-related header information

TheTick,

Thanks for the quick response. DXF worked. Some of the text expanded in length and the scale came in larger than expected, but overall it took much less time than if I had done it in Pro-E.
