UG NX2 VS V18 ASSEMBLIES

UG NX2 VS V18 ASSEMBLIES

UG NX2 VS V18 ASSEMBLIES

(OP)
Does anyone know why UG NX2 assemblies take such a long time to open. The same assmblies that took 1.5 minutes in V18 now it takes 4 to 5 minutes in NX2.
Thank You

RE: UG NX2 VS V18 ASSEMBLIES

Is this a first time load in NX2?

Load the assembly and save all components in NX2 and then try your load timing test. UG modifies all files when loaded into a newer version and the conversion routine takes time to process on each file.

looslib:
Only a few of components are saved in NX2. Majority are saved in V10 thru V18, but those are read only (legacy) parts that do not need saving in NX2 because there is no modification need to be done to them. There are none in NX1 because we skipped NX1 and went directly from V18 to NX2.
Yes it is  the first time load in NX2 for majority of components but the upper level assembly and a few components were saved in NX2. From what you have stated above it seems to me that our system administrator should save all the components in NX2. IS THIS CORRECT?

Thank You

RE: UG NX2 VS V18 ASSEMBLIES

Yes. The more version that UG has to convert across, the longer the load times.

As a test, copy the files to our local disk and save them all in NX2 and then load the assembly to get an idea of what the performance difference will be.

We refile all of our standard parts in teh latest version of UG once we are sure that everything is working okay.
