Easy Way to find Cross Sections of a pipe without Behavior Modeling?

Easy Way to find Cross Sections of a pipe without Behavior Modeling?

(OP)
Hi,

I'm wondering if there's an easy way to get cross sectional area of a "pipe" (or tube if you will) normal to a curve through the middle of the tube?

I've used the behavior modeling before, but I don't have access to a license now.

The method I'm using has been putting points on the curve at the desired distances along the curve,  making datums through those points normal to the curve, creating a curve that intersects the tube and the plane, using that plane to create a flat surface, measuring the area of the surface created.... As you can see, it's very time consuming.

Is there a faster way?

Also,

I know I can create a X-section and get the area from that, however, the plane intersects my tube at more than one location, and I only want the area where it is normal to the curve at each point. So, in effect, the area that I can get from the X-section is too large.

Perhaps there's a way to get a local x-section???
