Name of who lives there

Name of who lives there

Name of who lives there

(OP)
On another thread I asked, what are the people who live in Paris called?
Those who live in Canada are Canadians
Those who live in New York are New Yorkers
Those who live in Wisconsin are Wisconsinites
And those who live in Texas are Texans
etc

As I mentioned in the previous thread, I lived in Marshall, TX (a Marshallite) before moving to Paris, TX.  so it came natural to call our neighbors Parisites [though I don't think any would have liked it if they heard us.]

play nice!

RE: Name of who lives there

So we have the following suffixes from your list:

-ites
-ians
-ers
-ns

I would add:
-ders (as in Michiganders)

others?

RE: Name of who lives there

I grew up in Neenah, Wisconsin.  "Neenah" does not lend itself well to any of the above-mentioned suffixes!

RE: Name of who lives there

Neenahns?

RE: Name of who lives there

Paris is a city in France, so I guess they would rather be called French than Parisites.

RE: Name of who lives there

To my knowledge people in Paris Ontario call themselves Ontarians.  They don't like to use the Parisians term which comes from the French.

Say it once; say it loud.
I'm a "Cheesehead", and I'm proud.

California?  New York?  Florida?  Been there; done that.  I didn't like the whole scheme of earn twice as much to live half as well.

For me the weather is part of the reason I would like to leave North Carolina.  And my first choice is . . . Wisconsin [I do like cold better than heat.]

RE: Name of who lives there

There are a fair number of Midwesterners in San Jose.  When I announced that I was moving back to Wisconsin after two years in San Jose, many of them quietly congratulated me on my decision.  Then they went on to express that they wished they had done the same before their families' lives were too deeply entrenched in California.

I was born & raised in the San Diego area, and worked throughout the state prior to moving to the east coast.  California is a great place to be FROM.

The Tick,

"entrenched in California" ?
I thought Calif. had a Fault not a trench?

Hey, it's not my fault.

I live in Texas,
where "Men are Men"... and the cattle are nervious!

I always wondered where the term "Cow Poke" came from!

Maybe I have the spelling wrong?
