Common venting of mutiple clothes dryers?

Common venting of mutiple clothes dryers?

(OP)
Any experience with this? I would like to use a common in-line fan with w/ pressure or heat sensor at each dryer for control. Individual vents would also be equiped with a cape backdraft damper. This is for a multi-family project, converting an old concrete hotel, mech'l contractor suggesting the change from individual runs to minimize core drilling. Fundementally, I do not see why this would not be effective but but I have no practical experience to justify.

Thanks for any comments.

RE: Common venting of mutiple clothes dryers?

GE has design guidelines for common vent risers. Go to their website and search for dryer venting guide. There a design for fan-assisted and non-fan assited. I would use the latter and provide a a lint clean-out hatch at the base of the riser.
