Ghost Lines

Ghost Lines

(OP)
I am using Mold Wizard to make a simple plate with a boss on it.  The plate portion of the part is in the b-cavity and the only thing in the a-cavity is the boss.  The problem I am having is after I make my patches, define my parting line and parting surfaces all goes well and the cavity and core are made correctly, but the a-cavity that has only the bose in it shows an outline of the plate portion that is in the b-cavity.  It is on the parting surface of the a-cavity and is defined as an edge but is has no depth and I cannot seem to blank it or put it on another layer.  It is like an imprint of the parting line but it has now depth.  What am I doing wrong?  How do I get rid of it since is should not really be there?

RE: Ghost Lines

Could just be a face boundary, use deviation check, edge to edge, if there is no deviation then it's ok.

There is no deviation, it's on the same surface as the parting line.  The problem is when I go to make prints it is shown in the print when it's not really there.  I can do a view dependent edit in the drawing to remove it, but it seems like there would be an easier way to remove it or blank it in the solid model.

RE: Ghost Lines

It is a result of the WAVE subtraction that MoldWizard performs. It subtracted the entire part body from the cavity plate. The edges you see are face boundries. If you really need to get rid of it, you can try some of the Edit
-> Face tools, like delete face. It may or may not work as expected. Realistically though, you probly don't need to get rid of it...

RE: Ghost Lines

Join face would work (edit-face)

Face delete didn't work, but Face Join worked perfectly.  Thanks for the help Demco and Azrael.
