Drilled Caisson/Rock Socket Costs
Drilled Caisson/Rock Socket Costs
(OP)
I am doing a project for a DOT in the Pittsburgh area. I am looking for costs for a 9'-0" drilled caisson rock socket (20' in length) and a 10'-0" drilled caisson (about 40' in length). I found information for smaller diameters but would like to know how much the costs increase for the larger diameter.
Thank you!
Thank you!

RE: Drilled Caisson/Rock Socket Costs
For 6ft $550/ft
For 7ft $700/ft
Sorry none for 9' and 10' but you can compare mine with yours.
Perhaps call a drilling outfit in your area.

In 2003, the average bid price for 8' dia. rock socket was $2000 per foot.
RE: Drilled Caisson/Rock Socket Costs
I've seen smaller diameter rock sockets running around 500-900 per foot for 30" to 48".
You might want to look at some of the information for coastal states. Those states with large bridges or the like which may require large diameter work (presuming they can find bedrock!) might have information for you.
