Why use STBs vs CTBs???

Why use STBs vs CTBs???

Why use STBs vs CTBs???

(OP)
Hey, we are in a class setting up ACAD 2005 Building systems.  Because of our last project, the 'CAD committee' is pushing to use a CTB table with color=lineweight, and a few of us want to stick with using a STB so that we can change the colors to whatever we want and have them plot out correctly.  And it's not like the entire firm knows what color equals each weight, so I feel like we are forcing them to learn a way of plotting that was made for ACAD 12.

Has anyone had a similar experience?  I am looking to win a major victory here, but I am lacking any resources to educate the others before we try to set everything in stone.  Any help would be most appreciated -
John
