PRESSURE RATING OF STD SCHEDULE PIPE
PRESSURE RATING OF STD SCHEDULE PIPE
(OP)
Are there any standards or tables for the pressure rating of standard schedule piping. How do I rate a sched 10 st,stl pipe on a class 300 rated component, would it derate the component?
Ansi B16.11 and B16.34 do not cover this.I could calculate but I am concerned I have missed something within the standards.

RE: PRESSURE RATING OF STD SCHEDULE PIPE
No,the only tables I have seen relate to burst pressures of piping/tubing, which are NOT for design purposesb. You should calculate the minimum wall thickness based on design inputs, and determine pipe schedule for the specific material. It is recommended to use one of the formulas in ASME B31 standards (depending on your specific application) for determination of minimum pipe wall thickness, and corresponding selection of pipe schedule.
RE: PRESSURE RATING OF STD SCHEDULE PIPE
For the Piping Specification Classification:
For NPS 1/2 through NPS 4 (Full flange ratings per ASME B16.5, Table 2-2.1.)
1-4 NPS SHCEDULE 10S
6-24 NPS CALCULATION
If the Piping Specification Classification
For NPS 1/2 through NPS 4 LIMITED BY THE PIPE
1-4 NPS SHCEDULE 10S
6-24 NPS CALCULATION
Pressure and temperature rating may be limited by certain components permitted by this specification. Refer to manufacturer’s recommended pressure-temperature restrictions.
