Water Distribution Networlk Analysis

Can some body help me in comparing and selecting a software for water distribution network analysis which can generate profile of hydraulic grade line in a presentable form.

RE: Water Distribution Networlk Analysis

The programs which produce the best grpahical output are the most expensive ones, normally used on a large scale by water companies as a means of managing and maintaining their networks.
To make a comparison you would need to get a demo version. A very good one is Wallingford's InfoWorks (see advert at top of this page!) Stoner Associates is also widely used in UK, other to consider are Haested Methods, AFT, Seven Technologies (originally LIC) and Wanda (Delft). Most of these would cost a lot of money so it depends on the ecxtent of your application.
Can EPANET do longitudinal profiles ? I cant remember but it's worth checking as EPANET is free.

I prefer Heastad's product.

AFT's Fathom will do this for you. It is not as costly as those mentioned above. It is devloped by engineers for engineers.Their new modules will also allow you to goal seek, extended period simulation and pipe costing.  See www.aft.com for details and demos.

I have used the product for a number of years and have used it for major distribution systems.
