Protective coating for RO skid frame
Protective coating for RO skid frame
(OP)
Hi!
I have been told that epoxy powder coating is a good protective coating for a seawater reverse osmosis skid frame made of either aluminum or welded carbon steel? If that is correct, how is it applied (electrostatic, baked, etc.); or is there another coating which will provide better protection?
Thanks!

Watch castings and other materials that could outgas during the bake cycle as this will create pits in the coating.
Keep the wheels on the ground

If this is a one-off powder coating is the way to go, but there are alternatives like zinc primer, epoxy, and a urethane top coat or a one coat coal tar epoxy system if it is allowed.
Make sure you get everything straight with the applicator for any system you choose.
