Strange Pulping Equipment

Strange Pulping Equipment

Strange Pulping Equipment

(OP)
I am new to working in pulp mills and I am wondering about what the purposes of fiberlizers and mix pots are?

In the mill I am working in, it looks like the use the mix pots as line splitters.

The fiberlizers are on the discharge of the blow tanks in the pulp mill.

I have done web searches for both of those items and have had no luck.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

RE: Strange Pulping Equipment

IIRC, the fiberlizers are used to reduce cooked but intact chips to fiber and to break up fiber bundles.  Most likely a rotary device similar to a refiner.
