Left/Right hand versions

Left/Right hand versions

(OP)
I've made an assembly for a machine. It's a long trough with walls, a floor, legs and various other supports and plates. It is almost symmetrical except for opposite walls on one end. One wall just has section cut-out and channels used to support it. The other side has slots in the wall and channels used to support them. I have made the right hand version already and now need a left hand version. I thought there might be a way to mirror the assembly making a copy but using all the same parts. I would also like to make a copy of the drawing without having to start a new one. Anyone have any suggestions on a way to accomplish this? Thank you.

RE: Left/Right hand versions

Rather than using mirror you might be better off using a Configuration.

RE: Left/Right hand versions

Make sure a plane is where you want to mirror. See help for mirroring. For the dwg, open the part/assy and the related dwg at the same time. In the part/assy, SAVE AS, OK, new name. Then go to the dwg, SAVE AS, OK, new name.
Hope I made sense.
