Shock/Transient Analysis
Shock/Transient Analysis
(OP)
I am familiar with doing transient analysis with NASTRAN where I have been provided with a load/time history. However, I have recently been asked to look at low frequency half sine shock analysis of a structure where the loading has been defined as a table of g levels from 5 Hz to 60 Hz in 5 Hz increments. (Q=10).
Has anyone experience with this type of shock loading and how to approach the analysis?

RE: Shock/Transient Analysis
If the shock response spectrum is that of a half-sine pulse, then you can simply use the half-sine pulse itself as the base input.
The technique that I use is to synthesize a time history to satisfy the shock response spectrum. Then I apply the synthesized time history as a base input.
Send me an Email request if you would like the synthesis software.
