DCS principals

(OP)
hello engineers,
can anyone help me to have principal idea about DCS system, i hear always about Modbus, Profibus, Fieldbus, Device net
i want to know what is the difference.

RE: DCS principals

Have a look at the Foxboro I/A system and the Emerson Ovation system. Both are high-end DCSs and you will learn a lot about the principles and architectures employed.

The protocols you mention are well documented on the net. Try Google for each of the ones you are interested in.

RE: DCS principals

Think you miss the hole point:  those words are just the communication protocol of the DCS.  The main task of DCS is to control, monitor and collect the data from the plant it installed in.
