Guide Pin Deflection

Guide Pin Deflection

Guide Pin Deflection

(OP)
Hello all- I could really use some suggestions on where to find some information on a problem I am researching. Basically it has to do with a guide pin from 1-3" diam. (press fit and flanged type) in a 1-4" thick plate, with a force from 500-2000 lbs. acting on the pin. Obviously there are many variables in this, but how can I start to look at the deflection of the pin, especially if the plate thickness to pin diameter ratio is not safe? Can I predict the deflection of the pin after the yield point of the steel plate is reached? Any info, web sites, resources, etc would be of much help. Thanks.
