Indeterminate value in custom properties
Indeterminate value in custom properties
(OP)
Hi,
In the configuration specific custom properties of a part there's a "Indeterminate" value with no name or type. It doesn't effect the title block. Why does this value appear and how can I get rid of it?
Thanks in advance,
SWCADMAN

RE: Indeterminate value in custom properties
I have run into it also. Sometimes after you have filled out values under the configuration specific tab and then later go back to edit them a property called "Intermediate" will be listed where Description or Date etc. would be listed. I believe it only ever shows up in the configuration specific tab, never in the "Custom" tab. As everyone above says you can either leave or delete it. Can't say for sure but I believe I have seen it since upgrading to SW2004 SP3.

Alt-printscreen then ctrl-v does not seem to work...
RE: Indeterminate value in custom properties
But should the drawing template be changed (ie. to show more/different info) the original values remain in the part/assembly file as indeterminate since they nolonger have an active link to the drawing.

RE: Indeterminate value in custom properties
You have to create a GIF file & post it to a website & then link to that website via
{img http://www.yoursite.com/your.gif}
but change the {}for [] ... I had to change them here or it tries to link out.
See the Process TGML link below the Reply box below.
RE: Indeterminate value in custom properties
I found this in the Progress TGML link today [ignore]test[/ignore] using the "ignore" lets you show the [] symbols.
So you can post it like this
If you get a screen shot I would love to see it.

RE: Indeterminate value in custom properties
Seen it lots of times , No problem in deleting it !!
I always check for it when inserting design tables cause it gets annoying and can play havoc (turns up in the design table as $PRP )I have seen it in 2001plus and 2003 and 2004
Don't know what it is about though!!

Thanks for the [ignore] tip.
SWCADMAN
Send it to the address in my profile. I will try to post it tomorrow ... time permitting.
RE: Indeterminate value in custom properties
Every time Ive dealt with it, it was generally a typo in the "$PRP" entry in the design table.
