Aerospace specifications for carbon fibers
Aerospace specifications for carbon fibers
(OP)
Hello,
I am looking at using pultruded tubes for an aerospace application. Some fibers I have found conform to a Boeing standard BMS 9-17.
Does anyone know where I can find out more about this spec and what it covers?
Thanks in advance,
U

RE: Aerospace specifications for carbon fibers
STRENGTH AND INTERMEDIATE MODULUS FIBERS. This would mean that the fibers used in the pultruded tubes conform to BMS 9-17 prior to being pultruded. The only Boeing spec I know of that relates to pultrusion is BAC5597, CARBON FIBER/EPOXY LAMINATE PULTRUDED STRUCTURAL PARTS, PARTIAL CURE.
