LDD point file

LDD point file

(OP)
hello all,
i hope this is the right place for this. the question is what does LDD do with the point file when a large drawing (130mb) gets broken up into multiple drawings for phasing? i assume it keeps one file with all the points in it, but does it load this entire file into each 'phase'. or is creating point groups for each drawing the way to go? this file is just of existing contours and points and cannot be edited without breaking it apart. i guess i just want to know the best way to handle this. we are running LDD 2004 w/civil design and map 2004 on windows xp. thanks for the help.

RE: LDD point file

LDD stores all project data in the folder of the project you've associated your drawing to (the project shown at the top of the LDD window - can be changed under "PROJECTS", "REASSOCIATE DRAWING").  You can break apart your drawings as much as you want and still have access to all LDD project data.  Hope this helps.
