Equipment to Perforate Tubing

Equipment to Perforate Tubing

(OP)
We're looking for a production machine that can perforate welded tubing. The application is similar to that used by the automotive muffler industry to put slits or holes in sections of exhaust tubes. Any recommendations for equipment models and manufacturers?

1) The perforations may be holes or slits
2) The welded tubing is from 1 inch to 1.375 inch diameter with wall thickness between 1.6 mm to 2 mm.

RE: Equipment to Perforate Tubing

Wicsteve,

If you are still looking for a tubing processing solution, you might try Haven Manufacturing in Brunswick, Georgia.  They supply machinery for the tubing processing industries from automotive to furniture to medical and more.
Contact Mr. Zdenk Kuja, V.P. of Product Development, or Mr. Dave Erickson, Company President, for information on their capabilities.  You can mention that you got their name from a contact on eng-tips.com that will be joining them in August.

Their contact information is as follows:

Haven Manufacturing Corporation
370 Sterling Industrial Park
Brunswick, Georgia 31525 USA
Phone: 912.265.7536 • Fax: 912.264.9001

Hope this helps...

Jack

RE: Equipment to Perforate Tubing

Wicsteve,
Try Unitool or Unipunch.  They make some c-frame type tooling to do this.

Try a search for Carson Engineering in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
