Downward compatibility

(OP)
Hi,

I'm trying to send CATIA V5 documents back and forward between our company in the UK and our partners in the US. We have R13, but they're on R10.

I've tried using the V5 batch conversion untility to convert R13 files to R10, but these seem to work only on CatParts, not on CatProduct assemblies, which I want to use.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

RE: Downward compatibility

V513 is not friendly to v5R10 or R11, mostly because of the geometric sets in 13. Take the v4R13 back to V4 then to V5R10. I haven't lost any geometry yet.

RE: Downward compatibility

Pati, your method works fine for CATParts.  Unfortunately, there is no good method for bringing CATProducts and CATProcesses back.  And don't even get me started on CATDrawings.

RE: Downward compatibility

Try this...
IRD_PRODUCTTOPART=1

It will create an item under the tools menu in the Assembly workbench. This create a part from a product.
