Exploded View Assembly Drawing

Exploded View Assembly Drawing

(OP)
If drafting a 10 component assembly in Unigraphics NX2.

My question is on how I should be drawing my trailer lines showing how the part is assembled.  I've tried using lines in the model space but when they plot, they are not hidden behind solids. Any suggestions...

Cheers,

RED

RE: Exploded View Assembly Drawing

Try using view dependent editing to break the lines & make them appear to be hidden.

RE: Exploded View Assembly Drawing

Hidden lines in drafting views only work for solid edges that are hidden not for basic curves (lines). Try modeling all components in solid or an alternative will be as "nkwheelguy" suggested above.
 I hope this helps.

RE: Exploded View Assembly Drawing

REDSNIPE,

Another option would be to sweep a small basic curve circle .001 along the lines and set your solid object settings to phantom or the line type you want. Then you can show the leader lines in drafting and have them appear like lines but show as hidden when behind assembly components.
