Repeat Region

(OP)
Dear Pro users,

I am having problem with repeat region in the table. I want a repeat region to grow from left to right instead of the current default setting of growing either from top to bottom or vice-versa. Kindly suggest.

I am currently using Pro/E 2000i.

When you create the table Pro gives you the choice of rightward or leftward and descending or ascending. The repeat reagion will follow the rule set in the table.

Let me Know if this helped.

Dear phil,
From "Growing of Repeat Region from left to right instead of the current default setting of growing either from top to bottom or vice-versa" I mean this while updating of the table with the values of the Repeat Region.

I have a BOM table for an assembly of five components(each having different values of four parameters). I made a table with four rows (for four parameters)and two columns (one for writing parameter name and the other for writing the repeat region parameters) When I update the table the no. of rows increases instead of no. of columns?????

RE: Repeat Region

It sounds like you need a bi-directional table. It is hard to know exactly what you are doing using this format. If you could send me the information, don't send the parts, mabey just start parts with boxes and parameters filled out and the drawing with the table, I could sort this out for you. My email is psconnor@lambtech.com  .

RE: Repeat Region

i understand what is the actual requirement.
He needs that the BOM table flow horizontally instead of vertically, using repeate region. I think this is related to pro/e table creation. Pro/e creates a table first by selecting Column & then Rows, Thats way table always flow vertically not horizontally. i don't know there is any setting available in pro/e, to create a table first by selecting Rows & then Columns. If it is possible then probably this is the answer of the actual question

RE: Repeat Region

From my experience, the only way to enable a repeat region to grow a table horizontally is to create a 2D repeat region.  Unfortunately, this makes the region grow both vertically AND horizontally, and I don't think that you can isolate the horizontal growth by itself, since a 2D region creates 3 linked regions that are either all there or all not there.

Maybe you could find an unimportant value to populate the 2D region vertically, and use the horizontal growth to indicate the info you really want to show.

RE: Repeat Region

i think 2D repeat region is only used to display family table. i think this case is very different.

RE: Repeat Region

Hmmm, Has anyone asked PTC? What is there suggested technique?
