Oil Filtration/heating
Oil Filtration/heating
(OP)
Hello everyone,
at one of our Hydroelectric powerplants we have bearing lube oil hydraulic power(pumping) units with 300 gallon sumps.
They contain Chevron ISO 68 turbine oil and the system is roughly 120psi and 30gpm out of the filter elements on the unit. In the winter or when the powerplant is cold the hydraulic power units will trip out whent the unit is being started. The cold oil trips the pumps and sometimes gives a high pressure alarm. We are exlporing a filter/heater system that we could tie into the sump and set to operate while the hydro electric generating unit is not operating and when the oil is cold. The filtration will give us cleaner oil(which we need).
Does anyone have a thought on this problem and our proposed solution, and does anyone know of a company(s) that make such a unit.
Thanks

RE: Oil Filtration/heating
I know one company in Denmark that does this work: CC Jensen
http://www.cjc.dk/ They will also be able supply any instrumentation needed such as on line oil quality sensors.
You could also "view source" to borrow their key words for a web serach for similar companies.
