gwbasic to excel

gwbasic to excel

(OP)
I have an old program written in gwbasic and I want to bring it forward.  The program currently finds a printer on lpt1, asks some questions, prints out answers.  I want to make the program "live".  For instance answer the questions, preview the answers, change some answers, then print out the answers.  I thing excel maybe the place to do this but I don't know.

RE: gwbasic to excel

yes, i've converted several gwbasic programs to excel files.  as far as finding a printer, that is accomplished by the pc operating system and not excel itself.  the user can select the printer (from a list of them) from within excel.
as far as asking questions and seeing responses, that can be accomplished.
i think you may need some introductory lessons or guidance to excel and there are many web sites and books available to help you.
please feel free to conduct search via google as the names i mention are not complete websites:  john walkenbach, ozgrid, mrexcel, etc.

good luck!
