Flextite to a CS or pin/sleeve?

Flextite to a CS or pin/sleeve?

Flextite to a CS or pin/sleeve?

(OP)
In my limited experiance, flextite (MC with the plastic sheathing) is used to run between JIC boxes, or the like and not directly to a connector.

However, a customer has indicated they need to run flextite from the panel, under the raised floor and to a inline connector (cordcap), circuit capacity is 50A 208 3phase.  They have claimed they can run the flextite to a pin/sleeve but I am questioning this.  If that was the case, couldnt it be also run to a CS style connector?  I don't believe either one is really designed for flextite.

According to NEC article 645, SO cable is not allowed under raised floors, so stuck with some sort of flex conduit in this case.

RE: Flextite to a CS or pin/sleeve?

Is it possible that ‘flextite’ and ‘CS’ are localized slang terms for other premises-wiring materials?  JIC enclosures are intended for machine-tool applications, and generally not for use in raised-floor applications.

Also, can you elaborate on the term ‘CS style’ connector?  Pin-and-sleeve devices are intended to terminate {NEC Article 400} flexible supply cords and not metalclad cables or raceways, so far as I can determine.

Allow me to suggest seeking qualified engineering assistance for the task at hand.  It may be money and time ahead to contact the AHJ involved in oversight of the work, to officially address your questions—minimizing rework, additional materials procurement and scrapped components.

Flextite is metal clad conduit that has a plastic covering, typically used in wet enviroments.  I agree, JIC boxes are usually not used in raised floors, either wireways or conduits.

CS style connectors are commonly known as 'california style' non-nema 50A twist lock connecotors, made by Hubbel, Leviton etc but are made for SO/SJ type cables.

On your statement...about P/S not made to terminate to MC or other cables, but also for SO type is what I thought as well.  I should know in a few days what has been done in the past at this particular location
