PMS and table of Branch Connections

PMS and table of Branch Connections

(OP)
Dear Friends

I would like to know your recommendation for making the best type of branch connections in different services.Maybe as a general statement "branches shall be made by standard fittings in all sizes and services",can cover all clients requirements and the Contractors can get the idea, but putting such statement in the contract has a lot of costs for the clients in return. Therefore in many cases we might be able to use direct pipe to pipe connections ,such as cooling water services.Another issue is about self reinforced fittings in branch connections. To what extents and sizes these fittings can be used in branch connections? Is it better to use such kind of fitting or making use of pipe to pipe connections with reinforcing pads ?
It would be apprecited if I could have your recommendations and experiences regarding this issue and for making a general purpose branch connection table ,for the common services in petrochemical industry ,like cooling water , utility , natural gas and etc.

Regards

RE: PMS and table of Branch Connections

You are asking for a set of piping standards which is beyond the scope of this Forum.  Based on your question you should get several books on piping design and a complete set of codes and standards for your jurisdiction and start at the beginning by studying.
I just don’t any generalized statement will be appropriate in this case and could be dangerous.
